Starting Up Your Trezor® Device

Welcome to the world of secure cryptocurrency storage. Follow this simple guide to set up your Trezor hardware wallet and take control of your digital assets.

Your Complete Guide to Trezor Setup

Setting up your Trezor hardware wallet is quick and easy. Our step-by-step instructions will guide you through the entire process, from unboxing to making your first secure transaction. Trezor devices provide the highest level of security for your cryptocurrencies, keeping your private keys offline and protected from online threats.

Step 1: Unbox and Connect Your Device

Carefully unbox your Trezor device and connect it to your computer using the provided USB cable. Ensure you're using the official Trezor cable to guarantee proper functionality.

Visit trezor.io/start in your web browser to begin the setup process. Make sure you're using the official Trezor website to avoid phishing attempts.

Step 2: Install Trezor Bridge

Trezor Bridge is a communication tool that allows your Trezor device to work with your web browser. Download and install the appropriate version for your operating system.

After installation, refresh your browser page. Your Trezor device should now be recognized by the Trezor web interface.

Step 3: Initialize Your Device

Choose whether to create a new wallet or recover an existing one. For new users, select "Create new wallet." For those with existing Trezor devices, choose "Recover wallet" to restore from your recovery seed.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initialization process. Your device will generate a unique recovery seed during this step.

Step 4: Backup Your Recovery Seed

Your recovery seed is the most important piece of information for your Trezor wallet. Write down the 24-word recovery phrase shown on your device's screen in the exact order displayed.

Store this seed in a secure location, preferably on the provided recovery card in a fireproof and waterproof safe. Never store your recovery seed digitally or share it with anyone.

Step 5: Set Up PIN Protection

Create a secure PIN to protect your device from unauthorized access. The PIN is entered using the device's touchscreen in a randomized layout to prevent keyloggers from capturing your input.

Choose a PIN that's easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. The PIN can be between 4-9 digits long.
